from the SS Republic
When the S.S. Republic sank in 1865 off the coast of Georgia
en route to New Orleans, it was rumored to be carrying $400,000
worth of gold and silver that sank with it. That $400,000
would be worth millions of dollars today, were it to exist.
Soon after recovery efforts began in late 2003, many of
the gold and silver coins were discovered ... and have survived
in amazing condition! Among these coins were Type I $20
Liberty Head gold coins, $10 Liberty (or Coronet Head) gold
coin, and silver Seated Liberty Half Dollars.
 Two
types of coins from the SS Republic will be available: investment
